On a personal note.....
Penny has experienced and walked her own personal journey of
recovery since the age of twenty-five. As of May 15, 2008 she has 25
years drug and alcohol free.
Penny came from a broken home and familial addiction. By the age
of 12, she was classified as a 'garbage head.' She has suffered
significant emotional, physical and sexual abuse and resided with her
divorced alcoholic mother. By the age of 16, her drugs of choice were
methamphetamine and alcohol.
Penny went on to struggle with an eating disorder, domestic
violence, legal issues including Children and Youth Services, and
divorce and mental health issues.
To know Penny today, one would never imagine that she had ever
experienced the above. Penny truly is a miracle and she dedicates her
life to helping others to embrace their own recovery, while often
witnessing the same miracle occur in each of their lives.
